Position Overview
The EBP Audit Director is responsible for leading the Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audit team, ensuring compliance with ERISA regulations, and providing high-quality audit services to clients. This role involves overseeing audit engagements, developing audit strategies, and fostering strong client relationships while mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the EBP audit team in executing audit engagements for employee benefit plans.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA regulations and other applicable standards in all audit processes.
- Develop and implement audit strategies and methodologies to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review and approve audit workpapers, financial statements, and reports prior to client delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors, fostering their professional development.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to employee benefit plans and audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in audit, with a focus on employee benefit plans.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and compliance requirements for 401(K) and 403b plans.
- Proven experience in public accounting, with a track record of managing audit engagements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
